Awards Won by Gardeners Out East (GOE)
at Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) Convention(s)
2019:
Award #70 - FFGC's Special President's Membership Incentive Award. We competed in Class A (clubs up to 50) and won! The award was announced at the 2019 FFGC Convention on April 8, 2019.
2018:
Award 43 A-1 - Blue Star Memorial Marker Award on 4/22/2018, First Place, submitted by Karen Eckert for the Blue Star Memorial erected at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall in 2017. This win meant our Club was considered for a national award given by the National Garden Clubs. While we did not win at the national level, we are proud to have been considered.
2017:
Award 41 - Senator Dirksen Marigold Award, First Place, submitted by Karen Eckert for our Marigold Garden, which is now called our Circle Garden.
Award 14 (2) - Depalma Sillik Website Award, First Place, submitted by Eileen Amesbury, Webmaster.
Award 69F - Digital Photo Award Other Plants, First Place, is a personal award won by Master Gardener Norma Kisida.
Norma was also recognized as an "Inspired Gardener" due to her contributions to our garden club, her activities as a master gardener and her contributions to the Community at large. Congratulations Norma!
2016:
We won two FFGC First Place Awards for City/Park Planting and for Butterfly Conservation.
We also won 2 Deep South Regional First Place Awards in 2016 for #16 Butterfly Conservation and for #18 Adopt-A-Park.
Additionally, Norma Kisida, our Master Gardener, won 3 personal awards in Digital Photography: Birds and/or Butterflies; Landscaped Florida Garden; and Florida Wildflowers.
GOE couldn't have won these awards without the full participation of all our Club members.
Thank you all for such fun and productive years.
